One day maybe I will host forums here but right now the knowledge is spread fairly thin so there's no point in diluting it more.

This is the official Microsoft newsgroup for Managed DirectX - sometimes Tom Miller or other members of the DirectX team show up.

This is the official DirectX graphics newsgroup - useful for the really technical stuff.

There is also a specific newsgroup for programming DirectX from Visual Basic.

GameDev has many forums. The .Net forum has some Managed DirectX questions but they are mixed in with other .Net gaming questions. Pretty useful though and you can always check out the main DirectX forum for the more technical stuff.

This list is full of very useful, and very technical advice. Not really for beginners to post to but well worth reading if you want to hear from some of the top DirectX folk. There is some occasional Managed content, but generally it is C++ stuff.

Robert let me know about the #manageddx channel on the efnet irc network. It was very quiet when I dropped in to take a look this evening (PST) and Robert did say its not very busy there at the moment. Apparently Tom Miller is one of the ops (though Tom is very busy so I'm not sure how often he contributes) and sure enough there was someone called Millerman connected when I looked.

I found a yahoo group for managed directX. Right now it appears to be dead but there is an archive that some may find useful. I've tried posting (its moderated) and emailing the list owner with no success. If anyone has contact with the list owner then let me know.
